Abdullah's story
Abdullah, aged ten, lives with his parents and three siblings in his grandmother’s house in Burj El-Barajneh refugee camp in Lebanon.
His home is in desperate need of repair. With cracks in the walls and windows, the cold winter nights can be unbearable for the family. Abdullah’s father works as a driver, taking students from the camp to their UNRWA schools. However, his income does not cover his household expenses, and is limited by the fact that he is not able to leave the Burj El Barajneh area.
Abdullah suffers from an eye condition called retinopathy, which will eventually require surgery. With Interpal’s Social Welfare Fund, Abdullah is able to receive medical treatment for his eye condition. We also recently delivered a scooter to him to play with.
Thousands more Palestinians are in desperate need of medical treatment or financial aid across Lebanon, Jordan and the occupied territories.
