Mariam's hopes
Mariam is a 77 year-old Palestinian woman who was born in Al Kabri village, in Acre district, Palestine. In 1948 her village was entirely destroyed and the family had no choice but to move to Lebanon.

Mariam now lives alone in a small house in Burj El-Barajneh Camp. Her life is far from being easy as she suffers from osteoporosis and depends on other people for her basic needs.

Mariam wishes to “return to Palestine, see it, and pray in Masjid Al Aqsa”. She says “Palestine will get its freedom, because Allah promised it.”
